Sam Du

With 10 years of acoustical engineering experience in China, Sam joined Valcoustics in 2003. Since joining Valcoustics, Sam has been involved in a wide variety of architectural acoustic and environmental assessment projects. Sam is an expert with 3-D modelling used for complicated noise sources for environmental noise impact studies. He also regularly reviews architectural acoustics for major design projects, involving the interaction of sound and architectural elements to obtain the desired acoustic environment within a space. His responsibilities include project management, field measurement of sound and vibration, analysis, design, relating to acoustics and report preparation. As an expert witness in acoustics, he has appeared before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and he regularly assists with negotiating settlements and wording agreements, to avoid costly hearings and to reduce delays, in the land use approvals process.
