History

We actually have a founding father. And it’s his sound vision that drives our company today. Vito V. Cerami started the first acoustical consulting firm in 1965, because he saw that buildings had noise and vibration problems that were not being addressed as an element of good design. Widely regarded as a pioneer of acoustical engineering, he created an industry that didn’t exist before and that is now compulsory in every building.

 

During its first two decades under the leadership of Mr. Cerami, Cerami & Associates helped advance many design and construction practices now commonly used for noise and vibration control in modern commercial and residential buildings.

Over the last four decades the next generation of leadership has built Cerami & Associates into the pre-eminent firm working on building design projects globally, bridging acoustic engineering with technology consulting (AV, IT and Security) in the built environment. With over 100 acoustic designers and technology consultants in three offices, the firm brings a solid history and five decades of experience to the user experience.
